ANNA MALPUS
Anna had always had an interest in cars and wanted to see if it was something she would like to pursue a career in. She decided to join SMaRT and came to us in February. At the start she only worked one half day a week but this rapidly increased to 4 full time days per week. Anna flew through her City and Guilds becoming the first person at SMaRT to pass the exam. After only 6 months at the project she has gained an apprenticeship with Mitsubishi and has also enrolled into the IMI Level 2 at North Trafford College.

GARY BRYAN
Gary joined SMaRT in November 2006 on our Driving Ambition programme to obtain his driving license. He discovered that he was very skilled in Welding and took on the restoration of an MG. He passed his theory and practical test and was our first successful candidate on Driving Ambition. He has now gone on a paid work placement with DHL as a driver, which he hopes will help him save money for his own car.

BRIAN HICKMAN
Brian was our first workplace member when the project opened. He worked with us when we had no office and we were based in portacabins. He played a very big part in FST SMaRT's development of the site at Oakwood Trading Estate. Brian left SMaRT in the summer of 2006 and went on to get a full time job with the Annie Lee Centre.
