About the project
FST Enfield was set up in 2004 to provide work placements for people with mental health problems and other disadvantages. We operate as a social enterprise carrying out small building projects, painting and decorating jobs and hard landscaping contracts. These external work activities are supported by a fully-equipped office team responsible for a wide range of computer, accounting and clerical duties.
We have built up an excellent team, working with 60 people over the last year. FST Enfield is a genuine working environment providing opportunities for workforce members to develop a range of practical and administrative skills. In 2006 we won FST Project of the Year award and one of our workforce members, Duane Green, won Achiever of the Year. Recent projects include the refurbishment of a three-storey Georgian building and a major hard-landscaping contract including the design and build of a decking area, laying a patio and erecting a six-foot high fence.

Why I refer people to FST Enfield
“I have no hesitation in referring clients to First Step Trust. I have found that once people have started, they not only increase in confidence and are able to rediscover former skills or learn new ones, but they are also more able to try out other activities on their own. An initial visit to FST can become an opportunity towards future personal progress.” Margaret Garrod, Social Worker
Our funders
FST Enfield would like to thank our funders, London Borough of Enfield’s Adult Social Services, for their continuing and generous support.
